1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how J One Technologies (“we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.jonetechnologies.com (the “Site”), what they do, and how you can control them.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal information, the legal bases we rely on, how long we keep data, and the rights you have over it.
We serve clients worldwide, so this policy is written to meet the requirements of a range of laws, including the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and UK GDPR, South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA).
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences over time, so you do not have to re-enter them on every page or every visit.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way, and this policy covers all of them:
Local storage and session storage. Data stored in your browser by the Site, often used to hold preferences or temporary state. Unlike cookies, this data is not sent to a server with every request.
Pixels and tracking beacons. Tiny transparent images or snippets of code embedded in a page or an email, used to record that the page was viewed or the email was opened.
Software development kits (SDKs). Code inside mobile applications that performs a similar function to cookies on a website.
Cookies are described as first-party when they are set by the site you are visiting, and third-party when they are set by another organisation, such as an analytics or advertising provider. They are described as session cookies when they are deleted the moment you close your browser, and persistent cookies when they remain on your device for a set period.
3. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep the Site secure and working correctly
- Keep you logged in to your client account, support portal or bookings area
- Remember the contents of your basket and your selected currency
- Remember your preferences, including your cookie choices
- Understand how visitors find and use the Site, so we can improve it
- Measure whether our advertising and marketing campaigns are working
4. Categories of cookies we use
4.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the Site to function and for features you have specifically asked for, such as logging in or completing a purchase. They cannot be switched off through our cookie banner, and we do not need your consent to set them, though we still tell you about them here. If you block them through your browser, parts of the Site will not work.
Typical uses on our Site: session management, login authentication for My Account, the Support Portal and My Bookings, shopping basket contents, checkout progress, your selected currency (ZAR, EUR, GBP or USD), security tokens that protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and load balancing.
4.2 Functional cookies
These remember choices you make and enable enhanced features. They are not essential, but without them some parts of the Site become less convenient.
Typical uses on our Site: remembering your cookie preferences so we do not ask again on every page, the floating WhatsApp chat button, and any display or language preference you set.
4.3 Analytics and performance cookies
These help us understand how visitors arrive at the Site, which pages they view, how long they stay, and where they encounter problems. We use this to improve the Site’s content and speed. The information is used in aggregate and we do not use it to identify you personally.

4.4 Advertising and remarketing cookies
These record your visit and the pages you viewed, so that advertising shown to you on other websites and platforms is more relevant, and so we can measure whether a campaign worked. 6. Third-party services that may set cookies
Some features on our Site are provided by third parties, and using those features may result in cookies being set by them:
- Payment providers during checkout — Bank Transfre, PayPal, PayFast
- Video conferencing platforms when you join a booked consultation — Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams
- WhatsApp, when you use the chat button to message us
- Embedded content, such as videos, maps or social media feeds
- Analytics and advertising platforms, as listed in Section 4
Each of these processes data under its own privacy and cookie policy, which we do not control.
7. Your choices and how to control cookies
7.1 Our cookie banner

Where the law requires it, we do not set analytics or advertising cookies until you have given consent, and rejecting them is as easy as accepting them.
7.2 Your browser

Blocking all cookies will prevent you from logging in, completing a purchase or using the client portal.
7.3 Opting out of specific services
- Google Analytics: the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on lets you opt out across all sites
- Advertising networks: industry opt-out tools are offered by the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Network Advertising Initiative and Your Online Choices in Europe
7.4 Global Privacy Control
Where required by California law, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals, as no common industry standard exists for interpreting them.
7.5 Mobile devices
If you use a branded mobile application we have built for a client, your device settings let you limit ad tracking and reset your advertising identifier through iOS Privacy settings or Android Ads settings.
8. Cookies in systems we build for clients
Where we build a website, e-commerce store, school management system or business management platform for a client, that platform will set its own cookies, and the client is responsible for its own cookie notice and consent mechanism. This policy covers only www.jonetechnologies.com.
If you are a learner, parent, employee or customer using a system we built for another organisation, please refer to that organisation’s cookie policy.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove tools, or when the law changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where a change means we start using a new category of non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent again before setting it.

Note before publishing: the cookie table in Section 5 must be verified against the live Site. Run a scan with a tool such as Cookiebot, CookieYes, or the Chrome DevTools Application tab, in a fresh incognito session, both before and after accepting consent, and before and after logging in and adding an item to the basket.
